A Little Dirt, A Lot Better Internet.

We’re building a 100% fiber-optic network so you can get faster, more reliable internet. Once we begin installation, you’ll start to see our crews and equipment in your area. We hope you’ll say hello!

PeakFiber Construction Timeline

Every neighborhood is a little different, but the fiber build generally follows these five steps from first notice to final restoration.

#1

Construction Notification

PeakFiber will place door hangers and yard signs throughout the neighborhood so residents know construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

#2

Preparation + Utilities Marked

PeakFiber will secure all necessary easements and permits before construction begins. Call Before You Dig will mark public underground utilities, though private utilities will not be included, and residents will begin seeing construction equipment in the area.

#3

The Start of Construction

Small test holes are dug to verify the depth and location of existing utilities. Directional boring then begins along the planned fiber route, and connection boxes are installed where conduit and fiber lines meet.

#4

Placing + Splicing Fiber

A PeakFiber fiber expert will place and splice the fiber-optic cables along the planned route.

#5

Construction Completed

All construction is complete. PeakFiber will address any remaining miscellaneous repairs, and residents can now place orders for service.

We make every effort to preserve and restore existing landscaping as closely as possible to its original condition. However, landscaping installed within an existing utility easement is not guaranteed.

Yes. PeakFiber obtains all necessary permits, rights-of-way, and easements required by law before performing this work.

The right-of-way is generally the area between the sidewalk and the road. The utility easement’s location varies by municipality — in some communities it runs along the backyard, in others the front yard — and is where current utility lines are buried.

While rare, if there happens to be an electrical or service line cut, call the affected utility company first, then report the incident to our Construction Management Team immediately 937-599-7220.

Yes. We notify you first, work carefully and restore what we touch – keeping you informed every step of the way.

Crews follow marked utility lines and use targeted boring to minimize disturbance to your yard. It’s important that you help us by not removing the temporary flags that guide us along the path.

By law, we call in utility locates before any underground construction that involves digging. This ensures we know where all existing utilities are before work begins.

We ask that you please leave them in place until we complete to help us be accurate and concise.

If you are curious about our legal requirements, visit 811.com for more information.

Yes. Our goal is to return your yard to its pre-construction condition. Our goal is to ‘leave no trace’.

Any lawn, landscaping, or surface we disturb gets repaired once the work is complete. We respect the value of a well-kept lawn.

Once construction is complete, our team returns to finish restoration, including premium grass seeding where/if needed. You’ll need to water the area to help it grow back, but that is all we ask from you.

A utility easement gives utilities, including PeakFiber, the ongoing right to use a designated part of a property — typically outside the standard road right-of-way — to install and maintain lines such as fiber, electric, water, and sewer.

Timing varies depending on the size of the community. See the Construction Timeline above for a breakdown of each step in the process. We try to complete the process as quickly as possible to get you up to speed with our fiber.

We take reasonable precautions to protect sprinkler systems and invisible fences, however depending on your placements –  issues can occur, especially near the utility easement.

*If you have buried systems outside of usual utilities within the utility easement area, please mark it with flags or spray paint, or speak directly with the crew on site. We’re on board to accommodate and prevent any disruptions.
