About PeakFiber

We’re a local internet company, headquartered at 1213 W. Sandusky Avenue in Bellefontaine, built to bring honest, reliable fiber to Logan and Champaign Counties. We’re not a national chain running things from a call center three states away; the people who build the network, answer the phone, and show up at your door live in the same communities you do. And because we’re locally owned, our profits stay here too, reinvested in the community through the Bellefontaine–Logan County Finance & Development Authority. Doing right by our neighbors is the whole point: great service, a connection you can count on, and pricing with no games.

It’s a fair question, and here’s the honest answer: PeakFiber was built from the ground up specifically for this part of Ohio. We own our fiber network and we’re investing in it for the long haul. The big national providers inherited old equipment and have spent years treating rural Ohio as an afterthought.

We’re the opposite. This is the only place we operate, so our success depends entirely on keeping our neighbors happy. We’re not going anywhere.

Three things, and they work together. We’re local and accountable — when something needs attention, you reach real people in Ohio, not a script in another country. We’re reliable — 100% fiber, so your connection holds steady through storms, busy evenings, and everything else. And we’re honest — no contracts, no data caps, no equipment rental fees, and no bait-and-switch pricing. A national company can copy a price. It can’t be your neighbor.

Getting Connected

Search your address on our homepage and we’ll tell you straight. We’re building across Logan and Champaign Counties neighborhood by neighborhood, so if we’re not at your home yet, join the waitlist and we’ll let you know the moment we reach you.

Fair — plenty of providers announce big and never dig. We’d rather tell you exactly where we are than over-promise. Search your address to see if you can get service today, and if you can’t yet, the waitlist gives you an honest heads-up as we build toward you.
Installation is free, and it’s handled by our own professional technicians, not a subcontractor passing through. We run the fiber line, set up your equipment, and make sure your Wi-Fi is working before we leave. Managed Wi-Fi is included on every residential plan, so there’s no equipment rental fee to worry about.

Sometimes part of the fiber line needs to be buried from the road to your house. When it does, we use careful, low-impact methods and put your yard back the way we found it. Your installer walks the route with you first, so there are no surprises — which matters if you’ve got landscaping, a field, or a long driveway.

No. Keep your current service running until your PeakFiber install is finished and working; there’s no gap in between. Once you’re up on PeakFiber, you cancel the old provider. Simple.

Usually, yes — we just need your landlord or property owner’s okay before we install, since we’re running a line on the property. Let us know you’re renting when you sign up and we’ll help coordinate it.

Straight Pricing, No Surprises

Simple, flat monthly pricing with no hidden fees — what you sign up for is what you pay. You can see current plans and speeds on our Plans page.

No. Every plan is month-to-month, with no annual contract and no early-termination fee. We’d rather earn your business every month than trap you in a deal you regret.

No bait-and-switch here. We don’t run promotional “teaser” rates that jump after twelve months; the price you sign up at is the real price. If a price ever has to change, it’s only when it’s genuinely necessary, never as a gotcha sprung on you later.

Neither. Use all the internet you want, with no caps and no overage charges. And your Wi-Fi equipment is included, with no monthly rental fee on your bill. That rental fee is one of the most common ways cable companies quietly pad the cost.

Reliability & When You Need Us

Fiber is the most reliable internet you can get. It carries data as light through sealed glass lines, so it isn’t bothered by the rain, snow, heat, or electrical interference that drag down cable and DSL — and because it isn’t shared coax, it doesn’t bog down when the whole neighborhood is online at night. Reliability is the entire reason we built on fiber.

You reach a real, local person, day or night. Call us at 937-599-7220: during the day you’re talking to our Ohio team, and after hours your call is answered by a local Ohio service right up the road in Wapakoneta, not an overseas call center. And our repair crews are our own employees — when a storm knocks something out, the people fixing it are right here, not a contractor dispatched from another state.

The fiber line itself doesn’t need power, but the equipment inside your home does, so during a home power outage your connection pauses until the lights come back, like the rest of your electronics. If staying online through outages matters to you — a home office, medical equipment, or just peace of mind out in the county — ask us about Bulletproof Wi-Fi, our battery backup that keeps you connected when the power’s out.

No to all three. Weather doesn’t affect fiber, your speed holds steady at peak hours because the line isn’t shared, and we never throttle — slowing you down on purpose isn’t something we do. Your speed is your speed, all day, every day.

Speed, Wi-Fi & Equipment

It means your upload speed is just as fast as your download. Cable gives you quick downloads but a tiny fraction of that for uploads, and you feel it the moment you’re on a video call, sending big files, or backing up photos. With PeakFiber, fast goes both ways.

The easiest way to find out is our quick quiz on the homepage. Answer a few questions about how your household uses the internet, and it’ll point you to the plan that actually fits — no guesswork, and no upsell.

We provide everything and set it up for you: a small box called an ONT that brings the fiber into your home, and a Wi-Fi gateway that runs your wireless. Both are included, with no monthly rental fee, ever.

You can. But since managed Wi-Fi is already included with every residential plan, there’s no rental fee to avoid and no discount for bringing your own — so we’d recommend using ours. It’s set up for our network and fully supported by our team, which means if anything is ever off, we can actually help.

For most homes, the included gateway covers it. For larger homes, multiple floors, or an older farmhouse with thick walls, we offer mesh Wi-Fi units that spread a strong signal everywhere. Just tell us about your place and we’ll size it right.

Phone & TV

We’re internet-only; we’d rather do one thing extremely well. Most folks who still want a home phone use a low-cost internet-based phone service, and you can usually keep your existing number. We’re glad to point you in the right direction.

We’re internet-only, and for most people that turns out to be an upgrade. Streaming services like YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Netflix run great on fiber, often for less than a cable-TV bill, with no box to rent. If you’re cutting the cord from Spectrum, we can help you match up the channels you actually watch.
